Youth Empowerment Foundation (YEF) is a youth-focussed non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established in 1995 in response to needs identified after an in-depth research was conducted in three local government areas; Akure, Ado-Ekiti, and Ilaje/Ese-Odo in old Ondo State. The D4L initiative is one of the activities for young people carried out by Youth Empowerment Foundation (YEF). The initiative which originated from Netherland is designed to increase awareness of HIV/AIDS in secondary school-aged youth. It actively involves young people all around the world through mobilisation and empowerment to push back the spread of HIV/AIDS. <<more>>

YEF VCT OUTREACH SERVICES has a ‘stand-alone’ youth-friendly centre in Lagos commissioned by LSACA with provision of rapid STI diagnosis services as an integral part of the Counselling and Testing (CT) services. <<more>>

The Goal Project was launched in Lagos, Nigeria March 2010 and in Abuja, Nigeria June 2010. Its focus is on building the life skills, literacy and financial skills in addition to football skills of younger adolescent girls, ages 11 and 16 years old.
